In July, 2015, Laura spent an afternoon with the Taylor County (FL) Friends of the Library,
where she told about how to compile journal/blog entries to make a book, and the publishing process. The group was curious about brain cancer and Laura and John's experience with it.

"Liquidating Life" won a silver medal in the health/fitness category from the Florida Authors and Publishers Association in August, 2014.

November 18, 2013 and in March, 2014, Laura spoke to a creative writing class at Tallahassee Community College about the process of using a blog &/or journal entries to compile a book.
There were several other authors from the Tallahassee Writers Association who attended the evening and raffled copies of their books. The students asked insightful questions and said how inspiring the authors were.
